At the end of December 2016, the price index for food products in Altai Krai amounted to 100.1% compared to the previous month. This is the lowest value among the subjects of the Siberian Federal district. These data are reported in the Management of the Altai territory for development of entrepreneurship and market infrastructure.

In December, the largest decline of prices from observed food marked on oranges (-14,5%), lemons (-11,4%), bananas (-3,8%), onion (-2.9 percent), sugar (-4,3%), sour cream (-1,8%), lamb (-1.5 per cent), sunflower oil (-1,3%), millet (-1,1%).

The greatest seasonal increase in prices affected the cucumbers (average price in December was RUB 134,55/kg) and tomatoes (116,87 RUB/kg).
