During the pre-meeting which was held on the opening day of agro-industrial forum of South Russia, the Governor of the don region Vasily Golubev focused the attention of agricultural producers on crop insurance.
Despite a record harvest last year, when the region was collected 11.8 million tons of grain crops, it is impossible to say with certainty that the harvest of the new year will be the same high., said V. Golubev.
"If the predictions of our meteorologists will allow us each week to know exactly what lies ahead (...), then we will once again collect a record harvest. But you need to think about the risks, so you need to be insured", — said Gubernator.
According to him, last year the region has seen a positive trend in the insurance farmland. In 2016, farmers insured 376 hectares of fields.
