Kazakhstan received from the OIE status of a country free from foot and mouth disease, said on Friday the first Vice-Minister of agriculture of the Republic Kairat aituganov.
"On may 25 in Paris held the official ceremony of awarding of certificate on assigning Kazakhstan the status of a zone free of FMD. At the meeting of the General Assembly, the delegates of the International epizootic Bureau is of 180 countries on may 23 in Paris voted unanimously to receive Kazakhstan the status of a zone free from FMD", — said Aituganov at a press conference.
He noted that this became possible "as a result of purposeful work on the prevention of FMD and strict adherence to the strategy of FMD control in accordance with international requirements".
He noted that the status of countries free of FMD, allows Kazakhstan to export to the countries-WTO members on products of animal and vegetable origin.
