Head of Department food and processing industry Ministry of agriculture Evgeny Akhpashev held selector meeting on questions of development of the viticulture and winemaking industries with representatives of the regional agricultural agencies of the three Federal districts - the southern, North Caucasus and Volga.

Opening the meeting, Eugene Akhpashev recalled that in 2017 in the framework of the State program on the provision of support, laying and caring for vineyards provided 1.5 billion rubles. These funds in 12 regions of the country will be laid and 5.1 thousand hectares of vineyards (last year it was planted about 5 thousand hectares, which is 50% more than in 2015).

Representatives of the regional agricultural agencies, said that the work on the vineyards in the active stage. In the whole country thanks to the state Programme built more than 2.5 thousand hectares of vineyards, i.e. 49% of plan (+50 % compared to the same period in 2016).

"The Department of food and processing industry Ministry of agriculture pays special attention to issues related to the development of viticulture and winemaking, government support of these industries. For the first five months, the regions show good results for the establishment of new vineyards. I'm sure we will be able to exceed the performance of previous years and to achieve the targets of the state Program", - said Evgeny Akhpashev.

Following the discussion, the decision was made on consideration of questions of maintenance of a register of vineyards and acquire licenses for the production of wines with protected geographical indication (ZSU) and protected designation of production (SNMP) at the next meeting of the interdepartmental working group on preparation of proposals on improvement of legal regulation of the viticulture and winemaking industries.

In the regions of the southern Federal district a plan for the establishment of new vineyards made by 41% (of the mortgaged 1.1 thousand hectares at the plan of 2.7 thousand ha) in the district is 60% (1.4 thousand hectares at the plan of 2.4 thousand ha) in the VFD at 70% (3.5 hectares with a planned 5 ha).
