Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree establishing in the first quarter of 2017, the subsistence minimum per capita in the amount 9909 rubles, the corresponding document published on the official portal of legal information.
"Set subsistence minimum in the Russian Federation for the I quarter of 2017 per capita 9909 rubles, for able-bodied population – 10 701 ruble, pensioners – 8178 roubles, children – 9756 rubles," – said in the text of the document.
Earlier it was reported that Medvedev is lowered in the IV quarter of 2016 the subsistence minimum per capita to 9691 ruble.
The subsistence minimum is determined by the government to assess the level of life of the population in the country. Its value is used in the development and implementation of Federal social programs for minimum wage (SMIC), the size of scholarships, allowances and other social payments, as well as for the formation of the Federal budget.
