This was stated on the sidelines of the 40th session of the Conference of the Food and agriculture organization of the United Nations (FAO), agriculture Minister Alexander Tkachev.

"We predict that it will not be below 3%, very nice if it was 4%", — he said.

In June Tkachev said that the growth of agricultural production in Russia will amount to not less than 4%. According to the Minister, this year is expected to decrease grain yield up to 100-105 million tons (against 120,8 million tons in 2016), however, agricultural growth should be ensured by increasing the production of meat.

In recent years, Russian agriculture shows high growth rates. So, in 2015 growth at 3% in 2016 and 4.8%.
