No less than 800 hectares will be planted with fruit trees in 2017 in the Tambov region — 200 hectares more than last year, reported RIA Novosti the representative of the press service of the regional administration.

This data is provided Monday to the Governor's planning meeting, where was discussed about the implementation region of the state program for the development of horticulture. The state programme is being implemented since 2008, provides for compensation of farms of part of expenses to plantation and care of perennial plantings, as well as stubbing retired from service of old gardens. During this time in Tambov gardening invested more than one billion rubles of budget investments, founded about four thousand hectares of orchards, more than half of the intensive type, which give yields of not less than 35 tonnes per hectare. This year from the Federal and regional budgets will allocate about 319 million rubles for compensation of expenses on fruit direction, noted the Agency interlocutor.

"Gardening today is the priority. They must not only specialized farms. So insist that agricultural unit together with the municipalities have been active in the field of horticulture among non-agricultural enterprises, farmers and potential grantees. It is also necessary to establish cooperation and to develop the processing in this industry. We need not just a regional program of development of horticulture, and specific, detailed action plan by all municipalities", — the press service quoted the words of Governor Alexander Nikitin.

Tambov oblast all — Russian center for horticulture, the science base which is represented by the school of the great scientist-horticulturist Ivan Michurin. Today, the science city of Michurinsk was actively involved in the development of innovative technologies in horticulture. A Federal research center imeni Michurina concentrates the best experience of gardeners of Russia. Unique planting material michurinists, new technologies of cultivation of fruit crops are annually demonstrated at the Bottom of a green thumb and are widely used in different regions of Russia, including Kuban, said the press service.
