The government of Chuvash Republic from Thursday entered the territory of the Republic emergency situation (es) due to waterlogged soil, according to preliminary data, the damage from destruction of the crop may amount to 500 million rubles, said the Republican government.
It is clarified that the supply of moisture in the soil in some areas exceeds the standard value 4-5 times. In August in the region are expected heavy rains, sometimes with hail.
The press service added that because of the low temperatures and abundant precipitation sowing of spring crops began in the country two weeks later than usual and was only completed by mid-June.
According to the regional government, the estimated loss in grain yield in Chuvashia can be 20-25 thousand tons, potatoes – 30-35 thousand tons.
