In Russia from 6 August 2015 to 31 July 2017 destroyed 16,852 thousand tons of products imported from countries that fall under Russian food embargo, according to Rosselkhoznadzor.

Most of all destroyed products of plant origin - 16,378 thousand tons. Livestock products disposed of 474 tonnes.

For the week from 24 to 31 July destroyed more than 200 tons, and only vegetables and fruits. Total for this period was delayed 17,135 thousand tonnes of production of sanctions: 16,524 tons of vegetable and 611 tonnes of livestock products.

The destruction of illicit products is in accordance with the presidential decree "On certain special economic measures to ensure security of the Russian Federation" (signed on 29 July 2015). According to a document from August 6, 2015 agricultural products produced in the countries that supported economic sanctions against Russia and banned in Russia, is subject to seizure and destruction.
