This is reported by analysts of "APK-inform: vegetables and fruits" with reference to preliminary forecasts of the world Association of manufacturers of pears and apples (WAPA). According to initial estimates of experts of Association, in this season, total yield of Apple in Germany is almost twice lower than a year earlier.

In particular, in the season-2017/18 gardeners Germany can collect only 555 thousand tons of apples that will be the lowest figure for at least the last 10 years. For comparison: in the previous season, the gross yield of these fruits in the country was recorded at the level of 1,033 million tons.

In the circumstances experts do not exclude that in this season, many EU countries, including Poland, have a chance to significantly increase the supply of apples in Germany. In this case we recall that the total production of apples in the EU will decrease by 21% compared to the previous season and will be only 9,343 million tons.
