In the Leningrad region there are serious prospects in the field of aquaculture, and the appropriate Committee is necessary to conduct additional analysis and prepare proposals for additional funding of the fisheries industry",— said the Governor of Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko.

According to reports, from January to September, the region produced around 33.1 thousand tons of commodity fish products for a total of about RUB 5 billion to 33.1 thousand tons, 4% more compared to the same period last year. Main target species — Baltic herring, sprat, smelt.

In the fisheries complex of Leningrad region involved more than 150 companies.
