In 2016, the volume of the Russian market of apples, in value terms increased by 12%, amounting to about 1.3 billion. as evidenced by the data of marketing research of Russian market of apples, conducted by GLOBAL REACH CONSULTING (GRC).

Dynamics of the Russian market of apples in terms of value is somewhat different from the dynamics in real terms – thus, the results of 2016, the volume of market decreased by 2.5%. The main reasons for this can be attributed to fluctuations in the dollar and a significant increase in prices in the last two years.

The growth of the Apple market, in previous years, mainly due to the increase in imports. In connection with the introduction of the food embargo in response to EU sanctions and rouble devaluation, the imports decreased. Today in the Russian Apple market is dominated by domestic products. By the end of 2016 its share in the market structure is 71.5%.
