Farmers of North Ossetia have harvested a month earlier than usual after the acquisition of 18 new harvesters and bringing technology from other regions, TASS was told on Tuesday, acting Minister of agriculture and food of the Republic of Kazbek Marzoev.
"In 2017, local agricultural producers have purchased 18 new harvesters. Given that in the neighboring regions, the harvest ended earlier than usual, we were able to rent another 38 units of harvesting machinery from the Stavropol and Krasnodar territories and Kabardino-Balkaria. At such times we never got, usually even on the old New year stretched work", - said Mirzoev.
In total, North Ossetia has collected 621 thousand tons of crops of winter and spring, which is almost 14 thousand tons more than last year.
As previously reported, in 2016, farmers in North Ossetia could not complete the harvesting campaign of winter crops due to lack of equipment. In the ownership of the Republic no harvesting machines, they are farmers and are rented from the neighboring republics.
