The first commercial nursery will be created in stages from 2017 to 2019. This fall in Chernyakhovsk city district has already laid about 10 hectares, the total area of the nursery will amount to 23 hectares.

Important in order to supply the local market of a landing material of fruit and berry crops project implemented by the company "Kaliningrad plodopitomnik".

"When in the Kaliningrad region began implementation of the program on development of horticulture in the region was not a single economy in the production of seedlings. They had to buy abroad. The development of horticulture in the region continues, it requires constant updates, it has to be the nursery," said the founder of plodopitomnik Sergey Chechulin.

It is planned that the nursery will annually produce about 200 thousand seedlings of fruit crops (Apple, pear, plum, cherry, black cherry) and more than a million seedlings of fruit crops (raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries).

"The establishment of nursery will help to lay the foundations of ensuring Kaliningrad gardeners seedlings of fruit and berry crops of own production", - said the Minister of agriculture of the region Natalia Shevtsova.

The head of the Ministry stressed that according to the plans of the industrial area of fruit plantations in the region in 2020 will exceed one thousand hectares.

Natalia Shevtsova said that with the laying of the nursery in Chernyakhovsk district formed fruit cluster. It includes a nursery for seedling production, the region's first industrial Park (founded in the fall of 2013) and dedicated storage for apples.
