Twenty farms with capacity of 15 thousand heads of cattle, build and rekonstruiruet in Dagestan in 2018, said Thursday the Ministry of agriculture and food of the Republic.

"In 2018 we will continue working to increase livestock production. In particular, it is planned to complete the construction and reconstruction of dairy farms 20 15 thousand heads of cattle", - stated in the message.

In addition, the region will build seven feedlots on 1,2 thousand heads of cattle and 30 thousand sheep, will be put into operation five plants for milk processing and production of dairy products with a total capacity of more than 10 thousand tons a year and three workshops for meat processing with capacity of 3 thousand tons per year, and five poultry facilities.

"In 2017, in Dagestan, has already commissioned more than 20 livestock farms in 15 thousand [heads of] cattle. In total there are more than 2.7 thousand dairy farms," said TASS in the Ministry.

According to the authorities, today the Republic covers its domestic demand for milk and dairy products to 85% in meat and meat products by 58%, and in chicken egg - by 30.7%.
