According to him, in 2017 his company has collected a total of 10 thousand tons of grain (barley, wheat, buckwheat), and the harvest of buckwheat allows you to secure two-thirds of all the needs of the Kaliningrad region.

"I want to through the wholesale link to get into retail, "Pyaterochka", "Penny". No, here in Italy," – said Luzhkov in an interview with RIA Novosti, adding that he is ready to supply to Moscow to 1.5 thousand tons per year.

However, he complained that his farm was faced with a problem: ordinary customers recently have come to prefer the buckwheat porridge. "People began to save on food. Buckwheat honey, its cost exceeds about two times the cost of the oatmeal," – said Luzhkov.

He admitted that today his business agriculture is still unprofitable, as "it requires an investment before you reach the payback".

"If you want to spend the money, loans to agriculture, and will spend more than expected. My wife asks me: "do you have a hobby or a business?" And I have 126 people. How can I tell if it's a hobby? She's a business man, I replied to her that this is a hobby turning into a business. She says: "okay." And laughs," he said.

Luzhkov also added that plans to expand the geography bee. "In the Kaluga region we created the apiary with the breeding goals, I wanted to come here, beekeepers and scientists from around the world, but not in time, so the apiary is still my passion. Now seriously thinking about how to create a second apiary – in the Kaliningrad region. Because the bees and for the nature of is useful and will help to increase the yield of buckwheat", – he explained.
