Russian pastry, buckwheat and pasta, and alcoholic beverages international exhibition of food products Foodex Japan in 2018, opened in the complex "Makuhari Messe" in Chiba Prefecture northeast of Tokyo. It involved the industry from 83 countries and territories, including China, France, Italy, and Germany.

Russia is presented, in particular, the holding "United confectioners" - the largest Russian exporter of pasta products, "Makfa", wine company "Fanagoria".

As reported TASS in the organizing Committee of the exhibition, "Makfa" and the Japanese importer Japan Akira present there, in particular, buckwheat and ready-to-cook buckwheat porridge, which suddenly began to gain popularity in Japan.

Previously there used this culture is mainly for the manufacture of a special type of noodles. The situation changed after one of the shows talked about the fact that buckwheat is included in the diet Russian ballerina. This has produced massive interest, and now, for example, in the Tokyo stores you can see the packages with the Russian buckwheat. Currently, Russia ranks third in the world for the supply of the cereals in Japan, after China and the United States.
