Pig-breeding complexes with a total investment of over 5 billion rubles will appear in Krasnogorodsk district of the Pskov region in 2018, said on Monday TASS head of Department for agriculture, veterinary and state technical Inspectorate of the Pskov area Nikolay Romanov.

"The investor is velikolukskiy agro industrial holding, it increases the production of pork, and plans this year to begin construction of pig-breeding complexes in Krasnogorodsk area. In total there will be six, in each such complex will be grown for 25 thousand pigs. The volume of investments will make about 5 - 8 billion rubles. In the area at the expense of the investor are the roads paved, replaced power supply system, <..> will create about 1 thousand jobs", - said the Agency interlocutor.

He also added that two months of this year in Pskov oblast production of pork increased by 38% compared to the same period of 2017. Pskov economy in 2018 already produced 40 thousand tons. Last year at this period there were only 28.5 thousand tons of pork.

According to regional management of agriculture, in 2016, the region produced 152.5 thousand tons of pig meat. In 2017 the volume of production amounted to about 200 thousand tons. At the end of the 2018 regional authorities are planning to produce 220 thousand tons of meat.

Velikolukskiy agro industrial holding is the fifth largest company in the agricultural sector.
