Leading fishery enterprises of the Arkhangelsk region will take part in the creation of the Arctic fishing industry cluster in the region, said on Friday the press-service of the regional government.

"At a meeting in the government of the region of the fishing Council of their consent to participate in the project, said the leading enterprises of the industry. The cluster will bring together companies involved in the extraction and processing of fish and seaweed, shipbuilding and ship-repair enterprises, scientific and educational institutions of the Arkhangelsk region, but also in other regions of the North-West of Russia", - stated in the message.

According to the press service, in the next two years in Arkhangelsk will be built two fish processing plant with a capacity of 50 tons of finished products per day. Also, it is the construction of five large and medium fishing vessels at the shipyard "Severnaya Verf" and "Vyborg shipyard".

It is planned that the cluster will be created multifunctional coastal complex focused on acceptance and deep processing of fish. This complex will allow to involve suppliers, from remote fishing areas, including along the Northern sea route from the Far East.
