In the Pskov regional Assembly of deputies received the draft law "On beekeeping", developed by the Public chamber of the Pskov region. About IA REGNUM reported in the press service of the regional Parliament.

The bill regulates the entire spectrum of the industry of beekeeping: the raising of honeybees, the production of bee products, the protection of the rights and interests of citizens engaged in beekeeping in the region.

Earlier the bill was discussed at a meeting of the Committee on economic policy, agriculture, environment and natural resources of the Pskov regional Assembly of deputies. The Chairman of the parliamentary Committee Andrey Kozlov (United Russia) has proposed to create an interagency working group that will study existing similar laws of other subjects of the Russian Federation and complement the document developed by beekeepers. For example, in the Pskov regional Assembly already have the letter from the legislators of Bashkiria with the proposal to use a regional law "On beekeeping" as a model in adopting their regulations.

The first meeting of the working group scheduled for late may. In its composition, along with deputies and public figures, representatives of Executive authorities and veterinary supervision.

Note that some deputies of the Pskov perceive the new law with skepticism.

The Deputy Vsevolod Kozlovsky (United Russia) doubted that beekeeping as a sub sector of agriculture is in need of a separate law.

"Tomorrow we will come to breeders or fanciers and say, let us and for us to make laws," — said the Deputy.

According to the developers of the bill, currently in the Pskov region, there are about 5 thousand beekeepers who annually receive 600-800 tons of marketable honey. In the region there are about 100 large apiaries. Dominated by small stationary apiaries located in private beekeeping farms.

As previously reported IA REGNUM, in September 2017, the head of the Ministry Alexander Tkachev has supported the adoption of the Federal law on beekeeping. He said that the industry should generate revenues, not only for business but also for the state.
