In Leningrad region the staff of the farm began to increase in the population of Atlantic salmon in the river. The river produced 90 thousand individuals of this species, reports the Internet portal "Russian Public television".

This is the largest release of juveniles over the last ten years. Specialists year raised Atlantic salmon on the Nevsky fish factory. To get fry up to a length of 12 inches, they were fed every hour. All this was done under the program to compensate for any damage to water biological resources of the Baltic sea — it can cause the construction of the pipeline "Nord stream 2". To live in the Neva river will remain around 8 per thousand fry released.

"About 8 percent of the number released there in 2-4 years will return to the same river adults that will give new offspring," said production Director of the fgbi "Glavrybvod" Sukhin Rodion.

Now the population of Atlantic salmon remained in only three major rivers in the basin of the Baltic sea to the Narva, Luga and Neva. Natural spawning in the Leningrad region the fish comes only in the Meadow. In other rivers the number supported by artificially reared juveniles.
