Prices for grain crops in the Altai region in the last month rose by an average of 13%, including buckwheat, which previously has sharply fallen in price. In the region are counting on the stabilization of the grain market, said on Monday on a press-conferences the Governor of the region Alexander Karlin.

As previously reported, the prices of agricultural commodities due to larger production volumes in the region fell in mid-April, 2018, a ton of buckwheat was worth a little more than 6 thousand rubles, the decline was more than 10 thousand rubles. In total last season, farmers harvested more than 5.1 million tons of grain.

"Today, the price is normalized on the grain market. Over the past month in the region of the prices at which millers buy from farmers crops and other crops, rose overall by 13%, according to some cultures - up to 15%. These prices are not critical for agricultural producers, we can't have a conversation, that the price below cost," said Carlin.

The head of the region explained that the stabilization of prices occurs in part because Altai grain processors received loans. In addition, decisions were made on preferential terms of access to transport resources.

Arable land in the Altai region is the largest in the country, it is 6.5 million hectares. This year, as in the past, it was planned to plant 5.4 million acres. The current sowing complicate the rains and cold - are currently planted with about 38% of the planned areas.
