Long warm weather led to an early ripening of some vegetables in the Leningrad region. In this regard, the agricultural workers prematurely started their cleaning. At the same time actively forage in the interests of the livestock industry.

As noted in the regional government, on July 23, in the Vsevolozhsk, Lomonosov, and Luga districts of the region with 16 hectares are already collected 342 tons of early ripening varieties of cabbage, 105 tons and 28 tons of greenery. The average yield was 221 centner / hectare.

Recall that in recent years the regional authorities pay special attention to the development of animal husbandry, in connection with which it is necessary to develop its own prey.

This summer in Leningrad region of perennial herbs already harvested 74% of the planned target, or 118% to the level of 2017.

"Harvested 564 thousand tons of silage, 61 thousand tons of haylage, 47 thousand tons of hay. One head of cattle already stored 12,7 centners of fodder units", — noted in the regional government.

After two lean years the authorities of the Leningrad region decided to take a course on the gradual abandonment of vegetable production (potatoes, cabbage, carrots) in favor of those areas that are least dependent on the weather.
