Praviteltvo of Bulgaria adopted a decision to erect a fence along the border with Romania to limit the risk of spread of African swine fever, said the Minister of agriculture and food of Bulgaria rumen of Parajanov.

According to him, the Bulgarian side will take other measures, including measures for disinfection and enhanced control at the border. Also the government plans to hold meetings with owners of large cattle-breeding complexes for discussion of measures of biological safety.

As stated by the Bulgarian Minister, all the measures taken are "a standard for the European Union". He also noted that Sofia is in constant contact with Bucharest on the issue of ASF.

Recall that in late may, the Rosselkhoznadzor imposed temporary restrictions on import of live pigs and pork products from Romania to Russia due to the deterioration of the epizootic situation of African swine fever in the country.

Achs is a dangerous viral disease affecting both wild and domestic pigs. Vaccines against this virus, to date, does not exist.
