Damage Saratov farmers from drought has reached 200 million rubles, said on Monday the Minister of agriculture of the region Tatyana Kravtsev.

"On compensation, said the 77 farms. It is estimated the amount of damage, it amounted to 200 million rubles," - said Kravtsev at the meeting in the regional government.

The Minister said that currently, the ongoing collection of documents for compensation of agricultural damages from loss of crop. Authorities plan that by August 1, all documents will be submitted to the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation.

At the moment, the region harvested 800 thousand tons of grain. According to Krovavoi, this is the largest contribution to the gross yield in the Volga Federal district.

Earlier it was reported that the yield of grain in the Saratov region will be significantly reduced compared to the previous year due to the heat and drought. If in 2017, the region has collected a record harvest, which amounted to more than 6 million tons of grain this year is projected to be about 3.5 million tons. To reduce losses, farmers began to harvest ten days earlier than last year. According to meteorologist, in Saratov, the day temperature is around plus 30 degrees. This temperature is kept for several weeks.
