THE FGBI "VGNKI" HAS DEVELOPED A NEW METHOD OF EXTRACTION OF CHEMICAL POLLUTANTS FROM ANIMAL FATS AND VEGETABLE OILS
Scientific employees of the Testing centre of the fgbi "VGNKI" together with the Institute of ecology and evolution them. A. N. Severtsova RAS has developed a new method for the extraction of hazardous organic pollutants – dioxin-like compounds from food and feed of animal fats and vegetable oils. In the future, new development can be used in the analysis of the quality of food and feed for animals.

According to the research results at the International Symposium on persistent organic pollutants Dioxin 2018 was made of the oral report, the proceedings of which are published in the annual collection of Organohalogen Compounds. Also in the journal "Doklady of the Russian Academy of Sciences" (Vol. 481, No. 5) the article will be published.

The new method allows to extract the polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs), polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDFs) and dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) from fats of vegetable and animal origin.

The method is based on the use of coal 1000/1016 Carboxen sorbents for separation of PCDDs, PCDFs, and PCBs from the adipose matrix at the first stage, followed by purification of the two-section column with silica gel, potassium silicate and activated alkaline aluminum oxide. The method provides an acceptable degree of extraction of dioxins and dioxin-like compounds from various fatty compounds with a relatively small investment of time and solvents.
