In its statement, the Supreme court of the European Union last week said the public interest in access to information on glyphosate is associated not only with the knowledge of what can or cannot be released into the environment, but also with the understanding of the impact of these emissions.

The judges annulled the two decisions of the EFSA in which it was denied access to details of studies on the merits.

Glyphosate was developed by company Bayer/Monsanto under the brand Roundup. Currently, he patented and sold worldwide in dozens of other agrochemical groups, including Dow Agrosciences and BASF.

Concern about the safety of this active ingredient herbicides increases since then, when in 2015, the Agency of the world health organization concluded that glyphosate is likely to cause cancer.

In 2017 President Emmanuel macron promised to ban the use of glyphosate in France for three years, rejecting the European Union's decision to extend its use for five years. However, then the macron reported that while effective alternatives to glyphosate are found, which can affect the process of complete rejection of drugs with this substance, which caused criticism by environmental activists.
