The price of cucumbers in Astana began to decline after the launch of the inspections of price collusion, said Minister of national economy of Kazakhstan Ruslan Dalenov informs the 12 March edition of BNews.

He noted that all participants in price-fixing in the country will be punished. The Minister also spoke about the organization wholesale-distribution centers which will allow in the future to slow the growth of prices for seasonal vegetables.

According to Dalenov, during harvest time in the autumn it is planned to purchase fruits and vegetables in large volumes, and in the offseason to sell it at a reduced price.

By the end of February 2019, the cost of cucumbers in Kazakhstan grew by 19.7%, tomatoes — by 19.3%, cabbage — by 14.5%. In January, the tomatoes and cucumbers increased by 20.4% and 17.3%, respectively.
