The Federal service for supervision of consumer rights protection and human welfare (Rospotrebnadzor) explained how to choose quality canned fish on the shelves of Russian stores. The corresponding message was published today, April 14, on the official website of Rospotrebnadzor.

First of all, the CPS draws the attention of the buyers for the packing of fish products. The Ministry recalled that high-quality fish products must be accompanied by a label, which includes information about the name of the product, the name and location of the manufacturer.

Also the package should be clearly written the date of production, term of its validity, storage conditions, product composition, nutritional value and net mass.

If we are talking about canned fish produced from frozen fish, then they should be written: "manufactured from frozen raw materials".

In Rospotrebnadzor recalled that in the Russian market and in Russian stores can sell only those canned fish that correspond to the technical regulations of the Eurasian economic Union "On safety of fish and fish products" and the technical regulations of the Customs Union "Food products regarding its marking".

In addition, the CPS has said that in 2018 in the total amount withdrawn from sale, the share of canned fish products was 10%.
