XXI Congress of the Interregional Association for clinical Microbiology and antimicrobial chemotherapy has collected more than 1,200 participants from 11 countries. On the first day of the Congress was the first public presentation of online platform AMRcloud – database on monitoring of antibiotic resistance. Platform developed by the Institute of antimicrobial chemotherapy (was, Smolensk city) and yet is unique.

The fgbi "VGNKI" has become the first third-party institution, whose data have been uploaded to AMRcloud. In addition, AMRcloud – the first in Russia for medical and veterinary sectors, a database on the stability of the infection to antimicrobial drugs. The development of such platform, including the contribution of the fgbi "VGNKI" in this process is a direct implementation of the directives of the National strategy and plan to combat the spread of antibiotic resistance.

The Congress was also represented another development the Russian researchers: platform AMRseq online tool for annotating genes of antibiotic resistance according to whole genome sequencing.

The fgbi "VGNKI", presented reports on the activities of the Congress and published the results of their research in abstracts. Dmitry Makarov spoke at three sessions, including a presentation on the theme "Problems of antibiotic resistance in veterinary and animal husbandry in Russia". Learned how the use of antibiotics in livestock affects the growing problem of antibiotic resistance in the world. The report Dmitry Makarov has paid particular attention to ongoing and planned in Russia, measures to minimize the spread of resistance in the veterinary field. The expert spoke about the activities of the fgbi "VGNKI" in this direction: research work "the Veterinary monitoring and analysis of the risk of zoonotic bacteria," the creation of the phage preparations, the control of residues of antibacterial drugs in food.

In addition, the fgbi "VGNKI" and consulted with experts on the analysis of biomedical data and development of test systems for the determination of genes for resistance to colistin is one of the most important to mankind of reserve antibiotics.
