In 2017, the volume of exports of agricultural products and products processed from the region was about $190 million, by 2024, the goal is to increase it to $501 million for the implementation of the tasks of the national project "international cooperation and exports". In the Altai region is formed the region's development program until 2035 - "Strategy - 2035", is a public discussion of the project. In October, the draft document will be sent for approval to the Ministry of economic development.

"Exports of agricultural products in the framework of the regional project by 2024 is projected to increase to $501 million - 2.5 times the level in 2018, by 2035, to $1 billion," - said the Dityatev.

Also in the strategy development includes the increase of food production by 2.2 times to the level of 2018. The assessment is based on the potential of processing enterprises of the region, which is associated with the continuation of import substitution and the growth capacity of the export markets.

"According to experts, at 1-1,5% per year due to population growth will continue the global growth of consumption of cereals, meat, dairy and oil and fat products. Altai food recaptures market share at the expense of the quality characteristics, environmental cleanliness, branding. In addition to the traditional exports of Altai flour, cereals, cereals, pasta, fodder and fodder additives, vegetable oils, demand from foreign partners use honey, medicinal plants, confectionery and ice cream," explained the Dityatev.

In the future, great importance will be the deepening of the processing and production of new products. The most promising areas of deep grain processing to produce the amino acids, glucose and glucose-fructose syrups, starches and starch products, as well as for bioplastics the most important - packaging, films and bioethanol. These areas also have high export potential.
