The purpose of this study is to compare the shopping deals of fresh vegetables and green crops, and consumer preferences on the selection of greenhouse products.
As geography field studies of the selected Metropolitan region, which includes Moscow and the Moscow region as the most significant and commercially attractive local market off-season vegetables, salads and spicy greens for many Russian industrial and farm greenhouses.
Field studies include:
personal interview surveys of Muscovites exploring the characteristics of their consumer behavior and preferences when shopping out of season tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, eggplant, lettuce leaf, spicy greens, and factors contributing to the growth of the volume and regularity of purchases
the results of the trade audit in the segment of greenhouse production, conducted on a monthly basis during 2015 – 2017 in the leading chain stores in the capital and suburbs.
Findings comparison of retail supply and consumer demand provides recommendations to suppliers and manufacturers in the protected soil on formation of strategy of sales of its own products, assortment and pricing policy, as well as sales channels and methods of promotion.
