The international Grains Council (IGC) in its updated report predicts global production of rice in the 2015-16 marketing year at the level 473,3 million tons. A month earlier the forecast was similar, but more optimistic in February by 0.7 million tons. Recall that the indicator of the 2014-15 season was fixed at a mark 479,4 million tonnes and in 2013-14 year farmers around the world gathered 477,6 million tons.

Meanwhile, the initial grain reserves of this type for the 2015-16 MG in the current report incinerators were estimated at 109.3 mln. tons. This is 0.2 million tons ahead of the previous forecast.

A year earlier, the initial reserves were 3.2 million tons more. The volume of world rice trade, according to the latest expectations of analysts IGC, in 2015-16 MG will be reduced to 41.8 million tons against last year.
