Lack of infrastructure in the far Eastern regions of Russia and small volumes of production of grain products in these regions are currently the main factors hindering the development potential of Russia in the field of export of grain and its processed products in Japan.

This was stated by General Manager of the Corporation "Marubeni", Fujimori Seema during a meeting in Tokyo negotiations with the delegation of the Rosselkhoznadzor, announced on 24 may, the press service of the Russian Ministry.

As noted in the message, the main theme of these talks was the issues of expanding the supply of Russian feed barley and wheat to the Japanese market

While the Japanese side noted a number of advantages of Russia as an exporter of grain, in particular the proximity of Russia and Japan, and the possibility of using small boats to supply Russian grain products in Japan.

"The management of the Corporation "Marubeni" also expressed interest in the purchase and further supply of Russian grain and products of its processing to third countries, particularly in Egypt, as in the grain market of Egypt is a serious player and would like to increase its presence there", - noted in press service.
