FranceAgriMer has raised its forecast for exports and the processing of barley in France this season, at the same time dramatically reducing the forecast of ending stocks, according to Grain Online.

The exports of barley reach 7,755 million tons (previous forecast – 7,478 million tons last season – 6,638 million tons), including in countries outside the EU – 4,7 (4,5 and 3,635) million tonnes.

Domestic consumption of barley will be 1,919 (and 1,898 1,998) million tons, including for fodder and 1.0 (1.0 1,012) million tonnes.

Ending stocks will be much lower than expected a month ago – 0,751 (0,937 and 9.6) million tons average for the previous five seasons, ending stocks of barley amounted to 1,145 million tons.
