Germany once again began to make major investments in the Russian economy, despite sanctions. Investments of German businessmen have already reached record levels, and this trend is likely to continue in the future. This writes the German Die Welt, citing statistics of the Bundesbank.

The article emphasizes that because of the restrictive measures, exports in many industries has become impossible, and in order to retain their business, German companies are building plants in Russia.

Moreover, these sanctions had the effect only in 2014, when the German investors turned away from Russia". Then, writes Die Welt, the Germans have withdrawn their investments, but "the pendulum has swung in the opposite direction."

"In 2015, foreign direct investment in Russia, according to the Bundesbank, has grown to 1.78 billion euros, slightly below the indicators of the boom in 2006-2008 and in 2010," the article reads.

In addition, according to the forecasts of the Bundesbank, in 2016, will set a new record of investment, as in the first quarter of the current year of Germany in Russia has translated into nearly 1.1 billion euros.

Die Welt cites several examples of such investment projects. In particular, the agricultural machinery manufacturer Claas has invested nearly 120 million euros in the new plant in Krasnodar, a pharmaceutical company "Bionorica" in Ukraine is planning to build a plant in Voronezh at a cost of 30 million euros.

The publication notes that investing in Russia was profitable for the Germans because of the low exchange rate, as well as the conditions created by the Russian Government.
