The gross grain harvest in the world will amount to 2026 million tonnes, which is the second largest figure in the history and 25 million tonnes more than last season. Wheat production is estimated at 729 million tons (previous forecast – 722 MMT last season – 736 million tons), corn – 1003 (1003 and 969) million tons heavy rains in recent months have improved the prospects for wheat crops in several countries, particularly in Europe, CIS and North America.

Given the record of the initial inventory of the global supply of grain in the current season will be the biggest in history.

World grain consumption this season will set a record in 2010 (2009 and 1984) million tons compared to the previous month, the forecast of consumption of feed wheat and barley was raised. At the same time reduced the forecast of consumption of corn for feeding purposes.

The volume of world grain trade is estimated at 319 (318 and 329) million tons Decline in trade compared to last season happens, mainly because of reduced shipments to China.

Carryover stocks of grain will far exceed than last season – 482 (474 467) million tonnes.
