The French government plans to support local grain producers to minimize the expected reduction in their income due to significant reductions in cereal crops in the country caused by extremely bad weather, reports APK-inform.

The Minister of agriculture of France, Stephane Le Foll presented to the government a project to support local farmers, which includes tax benefits, deferred taxes and speeding up the process of VAT refund. In addition, it is planned to expand the existing range of measures to support farmers, in particular in the form of guarantees of government loans and the possibility of postponing repayment of the loan.

This year, the first results of the harvest of soft wheat in France show a significant decrease in the yield of grain, with the result that its production could be reduced by about 25% per year and reach about 30 million tons of Gross yield of barley and rapeseed, as expected, also significantly reduced.

It is worth noting that, in addition to the reduction of the wheat harvest, the income of French farmers would also be affected and reduced product prices in the world market due to the prospect of a high gross grain harvest in key producing countries like the US and Russia.
