In the Altai region for storing the intervention Fund claim 18 elevators. In the case of a successful accreditation, the agricultural producers of the region, the state can purchase up to 300 thousand tons of grain at fixed high prices. Storage, acceptance, conditioning and shipment of grain in Altai Krai carries out 58 businesses, which include elevators, warehouses, silos and mechanized warehouses of floor storage of grain. The volume of one-time placement of grain exceeds 3 million tons, and grain cleaning and drying facilities are able to quickly bring large amounts of moisture and weed of grain to the required parameters for safe storage, — noted the regional officials.

A characteristic feature of the harvest-2016 is a resume of a number of mothballed elevators (Barnaul, Shipunovsky, rebrikhinskiy and St Michael's elevators — approx. IA REGNUM ). All of these enterprises were costly reconstruction and modernization of technological lines.

As of 1 September 2016, the total amount of grain from the intervention Fund, located in the Altai region, is 152 thousand tons. In the region believe that this volume is enough to play the role of a "safety cushion" in an unfavorable market.

In accordance with the order of the Ministry of agriculture of Russia from March 18, 2016 No. 103 "About definition of marginal levels of minimum prices for grain harvest in 2016 when conducting state purchase interventions in the period of 2016-2017 years", the purchase price of soft milling wheat of class III will be 10 900 RUB/t class IV — 10 400 RUB/tons, class V — 8800 roubles per tonne, barley — 8000 RUR/t, rye — 7400 rubles/t.

To date, agrarians of Altai territory harvested over 3.7 million tons of grain. Governor Alexander Karlin hopes that the results of the harvesting campaign in 2016, the region will receive at least 5 million tons of grain.
