Since the beginning of the 2016/17 MG (September-December) Russia has supplied to foreign markets more than 540 thousand tons of this product, overcome the decline in exports of the last three years.

Despite the growing domestic demand for oilseed meals from the livestock, the active processing of the record harvest of sunflower in 2016 has strengthened the position of Russia in the external trade in these products.

The main directions of export supplies of Russian sunflower meal are still the European countries and Turkey. European countries, remaining the leading importers (50% of total exports), reduced purchases of meal from the Russian Federation more than 11%.

Turkey, on the contrary, this season imports are almost two times more of Russian sunflower meal compared to the same period last season and is 44% of total exports.
