In just four months 2016/17 season Russia exported 48.3% more corn than in the same period 2015/16 (2337,1 thousand tons compared to 1575,8 thousand tons in September-December 2015/16 season).

Iran, as in the case of the Ukrainian corn is actively increasing its purchases of Russian and, in connection with considerable growth of domestic consumption of corn in the country and, accordingly, demand for its import in the 2016/17 season. During the reporting period, Iran imported from Russia 546 thousand tons of corn, which is almost three times more purchases for the whole of last season (193 thousand tonnes in 2015/16). Thus, the share of Iran in the structure of maize export from Russia has reached 23% compared to 4% in 2015/16 season.

Increasing imports of Russian corn and Japan. According to UkrAgroConsult, in the reporting period the market of the Russian exporters shipped 227 thousand tons of corn that is high in the entire history of maize export from Russia to the Japanese market. For comparison, in the 2015/16 season in Japan were exported only 13 thousand tonnes of maize from Russia.

In addition, according to information of market operators, Russia continues to export corn to Vietnam. More than 150 thousand tons went to the market in January 2017.
