Soybean exports from the five key countries increased by 0.4 million tons in February

The increase in exports contributed to the growth of shipments from South America to 4.64 (2,98) million tons, in particular from Brazil – to 3.51 (2,04) million tons, Paraguay – to 1.07 (0,86) million tons and Argentina – to 0.06 (0.01) of a million tons.

In turn, the oilseed exports from the U.S. declined in February to 4.4 (5,65) million tons, from Uruguay is not carried out at all, while in February 2016 Uruguay has supplied the world market with 0.07 million tons.

In relation to the dynamics of demand, there is growth in purchases of soybean EU – 1, 2 (1,01) million tons and Asia – to 6.69 (6,43) million tons. So, China in the reporting month increased the import volume to 5.2 (4,71) million tons. Africa, in turn, has reduced purchases of products to 0,08 (0,32) million tons.

In March of this year, according to forecasts, Brazil will retain the position of world leader in the export of soybeans. So, for the first 12 days of the month from Brazil exported 3 million tons of oilseeds against of 2.76 million tonnes for the same period in March a year earlier.
