So, according to the decision published this week, the Ministry of trade of Iraq will pay only 80% of the value of each consignment after providing all required documents at the ports of shipment. The remaining 20% will be paid after arrival of the goods into the country and documentary evidence the importer of the suitability of grain for use in food purposes.

As specified, the main reason that prompted the Ministry to change the payment terms are tested by the country's financial difficulties, largely due to the decline in oil prices on the world market. It is also expected that this measure will contribute to improving the quality of imported grain and to prevent corruption in this sphere.

However, the new conditions increase the risks for traders, bringing the number of people wishing to participate in tenders held by Iraq, may be reduced.
