The number of cattle in all categories of farms of the Rostov region as of April 1, 2017. made 592,1 thousand heads.

According to the documents of the regional body of state statistics, this is 1.6% less than the same period in 2016. In particular, the number of cows in the region was 280, 7 thousand heads of cattle – by 0.7% less than on April 1, 2016. The number of pigs decreased by 4.9% and amounted to 410, 9 thousand heads. The number of goats and sheep has decreased on 1,15% – to 1184,7 goals.

As previously reported, at the end of 2016. the number of cattle in farms of all agricultural producers of the Rostov region decreased by 1.9% compared with 2015.
