As of may 25, 2017 in the Russian Federation fueled 16.5 million ha (2016 – 13.4 million hectares), or 95.3 per cent of the sowing area of winter crops. Including in the southern Federal district of 6.1 million hectares or 100% of the sowing areas in the North Caucasus Federal district – about 2.3 million hectares, or 100% of the sowing areas, in the Central Federal district of 3.7 million hectares or 96,3% of the sowing areas, in the Volga Federal district – 4.1 million hectares or 61,2% of the sowing areas in the North-West Federal district for 88.7 thousand ha 88.6% of the sowing areas, in the Urals Federal district – 41,2 hectares, or 60,4% of the sowing areas, in the Siberian Federal district is 123.4 thsd ha or 34.2% of the sowing areas.

Spring sowing in the whole country conducted in an area of 39.3 million hectares, or 74,7% of the forecast (2016 40.9 million hectares). Including in the southern Federal district spring sowing carried out on an area of 4.8 million ha or 76.3% of the forecast (2016 and 5.4 million hectares). In the North Caucasus Federal district – 1.7 million hectares, or 93.7 per cent of the forecast (2016 – 1.6 million hectares). In the Central Federal district of 8.2 million hectares or 87,6% of the forecast (2016 – 7.7 million hectares). In the Volga Federal district 12.8 million ha or 81.9% of the forecast (2016 and 13.3 million hectares). In the Siberian Federal district – 7.9 million hectares or 61.5% of the forecast (2016 – 8.8 million hectares). In the Urals Federal district – 2.8 million ha or 61.3% of the forecast (2016 and 3.0 million hectares). In the North-Western Federal district – 255,2 thousand hectares or 51.4% of the forecast (2016 348,7 thousand hectares). In the far Eastern Federal district – 948,9 thousand ha or 51.2 per cent of the forecast (2016 – 790,3 thousand hectares).

Spring grain crops in the whole country planted on an area of 23.8 million hectares or 76.9% of the forecast (2016 – 25.3 million hectares). Of these, spring wheat was sown on the area of 9.6 million hectares or 71% of the forecast (2016 – 11,0 million hectares). Spring barley on the area of 6.4 million hectares or 83.1% of the forecast (2016 and 6.8 million hectares). Corn for grain on the area of 2.7 million hectares or 87.9% of the forecast (2016 – 2.5 million ha). Rice was sown 146,7 thousand hectares or 69,4% of the forecast (2016 -163,6 thousand hectares).

Sugar beet (factory) planted on an area of about 1.2 million hectares, or 103,5% of the forecast (2016 and 1.1 million hectares).

Flax was sown on the area of 24,2 thousand hectares or 48.5% of the forecast (2016 to 40.9 thousand hectares).

Sunflower for grain was sown on the area of 6.3 million ha or 87.5% of the forecast (2016 – 5.9 million ha).

Spring rape was sown 719,4 thousand ha or 81.8% of the forecast (2016 – 733,4 thousand hectares).

Soybeans planted on an area of 1.7 million hectares, or 73.1% of the forecast (2016 – 1.2 million ha).

Potatoes in the agricultural enterprises and peasant (farm) planted on the square 208,0 thousand hectares or 61.9 per cent of the forecast (2016 – 251,3 thousand hectares), vegetables – were sown on the area of 113.2 hectares or 55.6% of the forecast (2016 – 119,8 thousand hectares).
