As of June 8, 2017 in the Russian Federation fueled 16.5 million ha (2016 – 13.4 million hectares), or 95.3 per cent of the sowing area of winter crops. Including in the southern Federal district of 6.1 million hectares or 100% of the sowing areas in the North Caucasus Federal district – about 2.3 million hectares, or 100% of the sowing areas, in the Central Federal district of 3.7 million hectares or 96,3% of the sowing areas, in the Volga Federal district – 4.1 million hectares or 61,2% of the sowing areas in the North-West Federal district for 88.7 thousand ha 88.6% of the sowing areas, in the Urals Federal district – 41,2 hectares, or 60,4% of the sowing areas, in the Siberian Federal district is 123.4 thsd ha or 34.2% of the sowing areas.

Spring sowing in the whole country conducted in an area of 49.7 million hectares, or 94.4% of the forecast (2016 and 49.6 million hectares). Including in the southern Federal district spring sowing carried out in the area of 5.5 million ha or 86.8% of the forecast (2016 – 5.8 million ha). In the North Caucasian Federal district – 1.9 mln ha, or to 104.2% of the forecast (2016 and 1.8 million hectares). In the Central Federal district 9.0 million hectares, or 97.1% of the forecast (2016 and 8.4 million hectares). In the Volga Federal district – 15.1 million hectares or 96.3% of the forecast (2016 – 15.4 million hectares). In the Siberian Federal district
12.2 million hectares, or 95.4% of the forecast (2016 – 12.2 million hectares). In the Urals Federal district – 4.2 million hectares, or 92.7 per cent of the forecast (2016 – 4.2 million hectares). In the far Eastern Federal district – 1.5 million hectares or 80.3% of the forecast (2016 – 1.2 million ha). In the North-Western Federal district – 349,6 thousand ha or 70.4% of the forecast (2016 – 444,2 thousand hectares).

Spring grain crops in the whole country planted on an area of 30.3 million ha or 97.7% of the forecast (2016 and 30.5 million hectares). Of these, spring wheat planted on an area of 13.0 million ha, or 95.7 per cent of the forecast (2016 – 13.6 million hectares). Spring barley on the area of 7.4 million hectares, or 95.8 percent of the forecast (2016 – 7.8 million ha). Corn for grain – on the area of 2.9 million hectares or 95% of the forecast (2016 and 2.7 million hectares). Rice was sown on the area 175,0 thousand ha or 82,8% of the forecast (2016 to 200, 4 thousand hectares).

Sugar beet (factory) planted on an area of about 1.2 million hectares or 104.6% of the forecast (2016 and 1.1 million hectares).

Flax was sown on the area of 37.8 thousand hectares, or 78.9% of the forecast (2016 – 44,1 thousand hectares).

Sunflower for grain was sown on the area of 7.3 million hectares, or 101.3% of the forecast (2016 and 6.8 million hectares).

Spring rape was sown 855,0 thousand ha or 97.2% of the forecast (2016 – 852,2 thousand hectares).

Soybeans planted on an area of 2.3 million hectares, or 99.7 percent of the forecast (2016 1.7 million ha).

Potatoes in the agricultural enterprises and peasant (farm) planted on the area of 270,2 thousand hectares, or 80.4% of the forecast (2016 – 303,3 thousand hectares), vegetables – planted on an area of 153.6 thousand ha or 75.4% of the forecast (2016 – 149,0 ha).
