As of June 13, 2017 in the Russian Federation spring sowing is conducted in an area of 50.4 million ha, or 95.7 per cent of the forecast (2016 50.4 million ha).

Including:

- in the southern Federal district spring sowing carried out on an area of 5.6 million hectares or 88% of the forecast (2016 – 5.9 million hectares).

in the North Caucasian Federal district – 1.9 mln ha, or 104,7% of the forecast (2016 and 1.8 million hectares).

- in the Central Federal district 9.1 million ha, or 97.9% of the forecast (2016 – 8.7 million hectares).

- in Privolzhsky Federal district 15.3 million ha or 97.7% of the forecast (2016 – 15.5 million hectares).

- in the Siberian Federal district – 12.4 million hectares, or 96.7% of the forecast (2016 12.4 million hectares).:

- in the Ural Federal district – 4.3 million hectares or 94.2% of the forecast (2016 and 4.3 million hectares).

in the far Eastern Federal district – 1.6 mln ha, or 84.4% of the forecast (2016 – 1.3 million hectares).

in the North-West Federal district – 357,1 thousand hectares or 72% of the forecast (2016 – 451,2 thousand hectares).

Spring grain crops in the whole country was sown on an area of 30.6 million ha, or 98.7% of the forecast (2016 30.7 million hectares). Of these, spring wheat planted on an area of 13.0 million hectares or 96.2% of the forecast (2016 – 13.5 million ha). Spring barley on the area of 7.4 million hectares or 96.2% of the forecast (2016 – 7.8 million ha). Corn for grain – on the area of 2.9 million ha, or 95.7 per cent of the forecast (2016 and 2.8 million hectares). Rice is planted on the area of 179,4 thousand hectares or 85,1% of the forecast (2016 to 200, 4 thousand hectares). Buckwheat planted 1.4 million hectares or 130,3% of the forecast (2016 – 994,7 thousand hectares).

Sugar beet (factory) planted on an area of about 1.2 million hectares or 105.1% of the forecast (2016 and 1.1 million hectares).

Flax was sown on the area of 39.3 thousand ha or 82% of the forecast (2016 – 44,1 thousand hectares).

Sunflower for grain was sown on the area of 7.4 million hectares, or 103% of the forecast (2016 and 7.0 million hectares).

Spring rape was sown 859,9 thousand ha or 97.7% of the forecast (2016 865,6 thousand hectares).

Soybeans planted on an area of 2.3 million hectares, or 102.7% of the forecast (2016 and 1.8 million hectares).

Potatoes in the agricultural enterprises and peasant (farm) planted on the square 275,7 hectares, or 82.1% of the forecast (2016 – 303,3 thousand hectares), vegetables – were sown 156,3 thousand hectares or 76.7 per cent of the forecast (2016 152,9 thousand hectares).
