As of June 15, 2017 in the Russian Federation spring sowing is conducted in an area of 51.1 mln ha or 97% of the forecast (2016 – 50,7 million hectares).

Including:

- in the southern Federal district spring sowing carried out on an area of 5.9 million ha, or 93.5 per cent of the forecast (2016 – 6.0 million hectares).

in the North Caucasian Federal district – 1.9 mln ha, or 105.2% as compared to the forecast (2016 and 1.8 million hectares).

- in the Central Federal district 9.1 million hectares or 98% of the forecast (2016 – 8.7 million hectares).

- in Privolzhsky Federal district 15.3 million hectares, or 98.1% of the forecast (2016 – 15.5 million hectares).

- in the Siberian Federal district 12.4 million hectares or 97% of the forecast (2016 – 12.5 million ha).:

- in the Ural Federal district – 4.4 mln ha or 96% of the forecast (2016 and 4.3 million hectares).

in the far Eastern Federal district – 1.7 million ha, or 89.3% of the forecast (2016 and 1.4 million hectares).

in the North-West Federal district – 394,1 thousand ha or 79.4% of the forecast (2016 – 453,0 thousand hectares).

Spring grain crops in the whole country planted on an area of 30.8 million hectares, or 99.2% of the forecast (2016 30.8 million ha). Of these, spring wheat was sown on an area of 13.1 million hectares, or 96.4% of the forecast (2016 – 13.6 million hectares). Spring barley on the area of 7.5 million ha, or 96.8 per cent of the forecast (2016 – 7.8 million ha). Corn for grain – on the area of 3.0 million hectares, or 97,4% of the forecast (2016 and 2.8 million hectares). Rice was sown 181,1 thousand ha or 85.9% of the forecast (2016 to 200, 4 thousand hectares). Buckwheat planted 1.4 million hectares or 131,4% of the forecast (2016 – 996,9 thousand hectares).

Sugar beet (factory) planted on an area of about 1.2 million hectares or 105.1% of the forecast (2016 and 1.1 million hectares).

Flax planted on an area of 39.8 hectares or 83.1% of the forecast (2016 – 44,1 thousand hectares).

Sunflower for grain was sown on an area of 7.5 million hectares or 104,7% of the forecast (2016 and 7.0 million hectares).

Spring rape was sown 860,9 thousand ha, or 97.9% of the forecast (2016 865,6 thousand hectares).

Soybeans planted on an area of 2.4 million hectares or 105.1% of the forecast (2016 and 1.9 million hectares).

Potatoes in the agricultural enterprises and peasant (farm) planted on the area of 279.5 thousand hectares or 83.2% of the forecast (2016 – 303,3 thousand hectares), vegetables – were sown 162,9 thousand hectares or 80% of the forecast (2016 – 154,0 thousand hectares).
