In may of this year, the export of rapeseed from Russia was the lowest since the beginning of the 2016/17 season and 1.9 thousand tons, decrease compared to the previous month, more than 61%. However, such volumes are typical of the last months of the season.

In General, from the beginning of the 2016/17 season (September-April) Russia exported canola is almost 2.5 times more compared to the same period last marketing year. Thus, exports increased to 68.6 thousand tons, compared with 27.7 thousand tons a year earlier.

The structure of exports during the current 2016/17 season looks quite stable. So, despite the fact that China remains a key importer of rapeseed from Russia (47% of total export), having increased purchases of raw materials more than doubled compared to last season, the three leaders hold Iran (24%) and Mongolia (17%).
