Egypt at the end of the agricultural year (July 2016 - June 2017) has become the world's biggest buyer of Russian grain and products of its processing, shifting from this position of Turkey, reported the Agency "Interfax".

According to the center for the evaluation of quality of grain and products of its processing (the structure of the Rosselkhoznadzor) decorated phytosanitary certificates in the past agricultural year Egypt bought 6.8 million tons of grain and products of its processing, which is 11% more than in the previous agricultural year. The basis of the supply was wheat - 6.7 million tons (growth on 11%). In addition, the increased purchases of peas (12 thousand tons), flax seeds (7 kt).

New articles of supply in Egypt were wheat bran (11 thousand tons), rice (1 million tons) and mustard seeds (0.1 thousand tons).

At the same time, purchases of barley decreased by 39% to 23 thousand tonnes of chickpea on 7% to 13 thousand tonnes.

Turkey, grain supplies which in the past agricultural year was interrupted several times due to changes in the terms of trade, bought in Russia 2.6 million tons of wheat, which is 20% lower than a year earlier. Just the importation of Russian grain production in the country decreased by 6%, to 6.1 million tons. Including the supply of corn decreased by 32%, to 706 thousand tonnes.

At the same time the import of wheat bran increased by 23% to 765 thousand tonnes, peas - 6%, to 372 thousand tons.

In the past year, Turkey has also started to buy in Russia corn flour, corn residues, beans and buckwheat flour.

On the third place from eighth in the ranking of the leading importers of Russian grain production in the last marketing year have risen Bangladesh, which increased purchases by 63%, to 1.9 million tonnes, including 1.8 million tonnes of wheat (an increase of 56%).

The range of supplies to this country joined the corn (53 thousand tons), import of peas increased by 6 times, up to 43 thousand tons.

At the same time in the last marketing year Bangladesh bought buckwheat and sunflower meal, were included in the supply mix, the company informed.

Iran, which is traditionally held the third place, the results of the last agricultural year was in fourth place, reducing the purchase of zernoprodukt by 24% to 1.8 million tons. Including procurement of wheat decreased by 79% to 333 thousand tons, barley by 6% to 466 thousand tons.

At the same time, exports of corn increased 4 times and reached 873 thousand tons.

The five of the largest buyers of Russian zernoprodukt, according to the center, closes the Azerbaijan, which increased imports by 9% to 1.5 million tons. In particular, the supply of wheat grew by 16% to 1.3 million tonnes.

The center also reports that in the past agricultural year the Russian Zernoproduct bought 126 countries 127 countries against a year earlier. The 10 largest importers, which also includes Yemen, Latvia, Lebanon, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, accounted for over half of Russian exports of zernoprodukt. According to the centre for the export of grain and products of its processing in the last agricultural year amounted to 42.3 million tons compared to 40.5 million tons a year earlier.

According to the agriculture Ministry, grain exports in the last marketing year increased to 35.5 million tonnes, including 27.1 million tonnes of wheat.
